/Qubitcoin/
A ground-up CUDA port that turned a dormant $1,600 GPU into the first viable mining machine on the Qubitcoin network.
The client had a real cryptocurrency with a real problem — their quantum proof-of-work algorithm only ran on CPU, delivering ~10 H/s. Their RTX 4090 sat completely unused. I rewrote the entire qhash algorithm in CUDA C++, integrated NVIDIA's cuQuantum SDK for quantum circuit simulation, and shipped a production-ready miner built on the ccminer framework.
/Project Goals/
Unlock GPU-native mining for a novel quantum PoW algorithm — no shortcuts, no wrappers, full parallel architecture rewrite.
CPU mining at 10 H/s made Qubitcoin practically unusable for real miners. The goal was to analyse the existing C++ qhash logic, understand the 16-qubit quantum circuit simulation, then re-architect it entirely for thousands of parallel GPU cores — delivering a miner that other Qubitcoin miners could actually run.
/Results/
10 H/s to 1,000+ H/s. One GPU. One rewrite. The Qubitcoin network went from stalled to viable overnight.
Mining speed jumped from ~10 H/s on CPU to over 1,000 H/s on a single RTX 4090 — a 100x gain. The client's GPU went from sitting idle to running as a high-performance mining machine. The delivery included a full build system, solo-mining config, and documentation clear enough for other miners to run it themselves.
